Just a word of caution for the racers with Briggs Animal and World Formula engines. As seen in the attached picture is the correct orientation of the carburetor slide V-clip. The purpose of the V clip is to apply pressure to the needle C-clip and hold in position. We are seeing more racers lose this V-clip while inserting or removing the throttle cable from slide. Just a word of caution that when replacing the throttle cable so the V-Clip does not fall out of slide. The adverse effects of the V-Clip positioned incorrectly or missing is the throttle needle will dance up and down and cause a very rich fuel air condition.
In addition, take note that in the World Formula application the V-Clip must set down in a shallow recessed area. The Animal is just positioned at the bottom of the slide bore location.
