OUR HISTORY

Founded by Steve Baker, BRE began offering high quality racing engines to the public. With years of trusted service and a winning pedigree, Baker was known throughout the US as a leading engine builder. In 2020, Steve sought out retiring from building engines after 28 years. Knowing Javin's background and skills, Steve reached out to him for any interest in taking over the business. Steve and Javin spent the next year hand in hand working together, sharing the knowledge of a winning formula.  In that time, Javin (and wife, Claire) decided to delve into the opportunity full ownership, and haven't looked back. Claire quit her 9-5, and now does everything but building the engines. In 2024, the name was changed to BRE Racing Engines to make it their own entity, while keeping the familiarity of the Baker legacy. Javin and Claire are beyond proud that BRE remains one of the top businesses selling/repairing small engines in the country today!
